Honeymoon in St. Lucia
We decided to spend our honeymoon in the beautiful St. Lucia. I have no words to describe how much we enjoyed this trip. It was absolutely priceless and we plan to go there plenty more times in the future. Somethings we did on this trip were: visit Sugar Beach, Hotel Chocolat, Sulfur Springs, waterfalls, explore Soufriere, and hike to the top of the Gros Piton (the tallest mountain on the island).
Once we arrived, we were picked up at the airport by Shane, who ended up being our personal driver for our entire visit. He was so much fun and we all became the best of friends! Not only was this possibly the best trip we will ever go on, but we were blessed enough to stay in one of the nicest Airbnbs on the island. Saba Villa hosted by Janus was the most beautiful Airbnb I have ever seen. Janus was extremely welcoming and even stopped by to introduce himself at check in. The main master bedroom looks out to the stunning view of the Pitons. The windows on both stories look out to panoramic views of the Pitons and the Caribbean. It also had a refreshing infinity pool that we were in each day and evening.
Visiting in July of 2021 was especially cool because they were having Presidential elections. So each night we went swimming, we could hear the debates from each side over the loud speakers in town.
We were able to schedule all of our excursions with Janus, which was extremely helpful! One day we booked the Soufriere tour where Shane took us to the Tet Paul Trail, Sulfur Springs, a gorgeous waterfall and to lunch with a stunning view of the Pitons and the town. This was one of the most fun days we had and Shane even brought some of his homemade Rum Punch which was phenomenal. Janus and Shane are true entrepreneurs and work hard for everything they have. I appreciated hearing about their outlook on life and learned so much from speaking to them!
On the last day before heading back to the states, we visited Hotel Chocolat where we planted our own cocoa plant and made our own chocolate bars! The tour also treated us to lunch where we had a chocolate burger, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. It had to be the best food I've ever had! The food was is really small portions, but cocoa is so filling that we were stuffed! If you ever have a chance to visit St. Lucia, we HIGHLY recommend it!!!
